President Monson  "BELIEVE, OBEY, AND ENDURE"  April conference 2012

"Most of you were taught the truths of the gospel from the time you were a toddler.  You were taught by loving parents and caring teachers.  The truths they imparted to you helped you gain a testimony;  you believed what you were taught.  Although that testimony can continue to be fed spiritually and to grow as you study, as you pray for guidance, and as you attend your Church meetings each wek, it is up to you to keep that testimony alive.  Satan will try with all his might to destroy it.  Throughout your entire life you will need to nurture it.  As with the flame of a brightly burning fire, your testimony --if not continually fed-- will fade to glowing embers and then cool completely.  You must not let this happen."

I have felt this truth in my life and so I do all I can to keep my spirit learning and growing.  Right now I have that opportunity with the young women as I begin my own personal progress workbook.  It is a great way to progress!

Dad and I have had such a wonderful experience in missionary work with my friend Corrina
Taylor.  We have met with the missionaries in her home for several months and watched as her life changed dramatically from darkness and depression to light and happiness and energy and faith.  The gospel truly does change lives.  Now we are meeting with a single mom named Malene in our home for the missionary lessons.  WE are excited and feel so blessed to experience such power from the Lord.  Last night the Spirit of the Lord was very strong.  Malene said, " I don't know what I'm feeling.  I think I might explode."  The Elder explained to her that she was feeling the power of the Lords Spirit, or the Holy Ghost.  She committeds to baptism for September 15th.  Missionary work is one of the most satisfying things in this world!

A treatise on anxiety:
This is the 15th move since I married the wanderer, the believer in all dreams. I have mastered the art of moving, often with husband and 7 kids in tow. I KNOW how to do this. But last week I woke up with a panic attack. Constricted chest that felt like an anvil had been placed on it. Painful breathing. Sweating and light headedness and feeling like I would faint. Hmmm...... my brain was telling my body that I just didn't have the wherewithall to do this again. When I realized what was happening I turned to the Lord in earnest prayer. Brian gave me a blessing. I thought of the many times the Lord has given me strength for the journey. I needed to know that I could recieve from Him physical strength for my 57 year old, badly treated body, and that I could recieve from Him emotional strength to do whatever I had to do in life. He answered my prayers and I have been just fine ever since those two days of struggle. Thanks to all those who offered a silent prayer in my behalf. And great thanks to my Jesus who upholds me in all good things and anwers my prayers of faith.
