Two items of interest.

First, the Welches are leaving La Canada after 51 years. Wow, they have really seen some changes haven't they! We had a nice farewell dinner after church for them. We will miss them!

Second, this is the 50 SPF tent I got for the beach to protect Amanda and the babies from the sun. It is 11x11 Ft. and 16 ft. high. It should come in handy. Even the side screens are 50 SPF!

Here is the Kelley Family in Santa Barbara after our trip to Solvang.
This is Brian at the knife shop in Solvang. He does love his knives!

Last of all we are at the little mermaid restaurant in Solvang. It was a very hot day and just miserable. Oh well.

Fun with Katherine

Here is Katherine in her new toy.
She seems to really like it.
Also, we went to the National Championships
for diving at the Rose Bowl on Weds.
They are really amazing! From here they
go to Bejing.

Ritz-Carlton blues

Dad and I went to the Ritz Carlton in Laguna Niguel for a couple of nights. It was very beautiful but unfortunately it was cold, drizzly, and cloudy. What is happening to our weather? The good news is that Dad has a buisiness meeting there every year and we can try again next year. Chelsea did a great job of holding down the fort while we were gone. Love you all and miss you tons, Mom

God Bless America

I read this morning in Ether chapter 2 about this choice land. I fear for the freedoms we enjoy. In Ether 2:7-12 the Lord states clearly that this land is set aside for only those who worship Him. If the people of this nation turn from Him, this land will be given to others.
"And he had sworn in his wrath unto the brother of Jared, that whoso should possess this land of promise, from that time henceforth and forever, should serve him, the true and only God, or they should be swept off when the fulness of his wrath should come upon them."
Please read Ether 2:7-12 and ponder verse 11. This verse is written to the people of this day as a warning.
I love this wonderful country and the many freedoms we enjoy. I am honored to have Hoyt and Bill as father-in-laws who fought bravely to secure our freedoms. I honor them and love them so much. What a legacy of courage they have left to their posterity! God Bless us to always be found worthy of this great and choice land of America! Mom

I thought the centerpieces turned out just beautiful. The cake was a big hit.

La Canada reception

Annie was the only one to remember her camera at the La Canada reception. We got just a few shots.

AGAINST ALL ODDS

Against all odds!!! Here they are at last, husband and wife for all eternity. May they be blessed a whole lifetime.

mom and dad with annie

It was a very stressful day, but Annie looked as beautiful as ever. You're married Annie!!!
Here are some family photos from the Logan Temple, again courtesy of Uncle Phil.

Phil also took some beautiful photos of the Temple. What a gorgeous day it was.

Uncle Phil sent us these nice photos from Annie's Wedding Day, which of course started out with Katherine's blessing. What a sweet ocassion that was to have the family gathered together for that sacred moment and see Brian give his daughter a name and a wonderful blessing.

I love these photos of Kate -- she looks like such the little person. Not really a newborn, but rather a miniaturized one-year old. Really cute in her new blessing gown (which Amanda and Grandpa cleverly picked out).

Here are a couple of photos of the proud mama and papa.
