We are so excited to hear the great news that Annie and Cody are pregnant andthink the baby is due kin February. They made the announcement at lunch last Saturday at the Olive Garden near Regan and Pete's house in Sugar House , Utah. Annie did the traditional tap, tap, tap, on the glass while standing to deliver the good news. I can't believe she kept such exciting news to herself for almost 2 weeks! That's discipline. We are so happy for you two. sooo many blessings.

Katherine makes a fighting fist
I just love to watch katherine ball her fists together and squeeze them when she is mad about something. I told her mom it won't be so cute when she's a teenager. It absolutely must be preserved though for posterity!!!

HOPE
I love the article in the June Ensign entitled "HOPE: The Misunderstood Sister."
It cleverly highlights Faith, Hope, and Charity as sisters with distinct characteristics. It clarifies the definition of hope in a way that brought me satisfaction. I concluded that hope is not a question mark as in, "I hope the sun will shine today?" Hope is a statement with an exclamation mark." I have hope the sun will shine today.!.!"(at least in my heart).
It says hope is expectation based on experience.
In my brain I have all the evidence necessary to form a life of hope. Truly a lifetime of tender mercies from my Heavenly Father. I must access those experiences through prayer and meditation and bring them forward and allow them to sit at the forefront of my mind and like a seed, nurture them and use them to grow spiritually. I can plant a seed of hope just as I can plant a seed of faith or charity or any good quality. The article states,"Hope has the confidence of one who clearly sees a bright future even when the next hours seem fog shrouded. Hope is steady and strong."
What is it I hope for?
My greatest hope is that through the atonement I can create a life filled with the spirit of the Lord. A life filled with love and service. A life filled with acceptance of people and the right to one's own spiritual journey. I hope for gratitude and an awareness of the beauties of this earth's creations. I hope my life can be spent in worthwhile endevours. I hope for time in the best books. I hope to be a conduit for good in the lives of my children and grandchildren. I hope to learn the art of truly loving and supporting my husband. I hope to live such as to have the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost!!!!!!(statement, excamation point!)

Chelsea's last chamber concert
Here is Chelsea singing and playing the piano for the final Chamber concert. I was brought to tears remembering all the 7 Kelley kids at thier final chamber concert. I distincly remember the tender scene of Regan and Leah singing a duet and my sweet little Regan crying, unable to sing at all. And her dear sister Leah having to carry the song all by herself.
I remember all of the kids holding back tears as best as they could until it all came out of their hearts at once.
Such tender memories!

Sarah's fashion show.
Sarah looked so beautiful for her special night. It was held at Graumann's Chinese theatre. There were 18 students who showed about 6-8 completed looks. Sarah did a great job. Linda and I were really impressed with her work. Some of the looks were pretty bizarre and some of it not well done. But I love several of the designers.
30 year anniversary trip to Northern Italy
As you may know, dad and I have been looking forward to our 30 year anniversary trip. We have waited to find out when Laura is going on her mission to make final plans. Since Laura is going in Sept. and Becky's baby girl is also due in Sept., we decided to take off the middle of Aug.
We will be gone Aug. 12th-25th. We will fly to Milan, Italy and stay 3 days at Lake Como. Then we will drive to Venice for 3 days, and finally drive to Florence touring Tuscany, and Pissa as well as the coast for 4 days. Isn't this a dream come true!!! Dad was able to use flight miles for all the airfare!

A gentle reminder
" Charity is the pure love of Christ. Charity suffereth long, and is kind, and envieth not, and is not puffed up, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil, and rejoiceth not in iniquity but rejoiceth in the truth, beareth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things."

Brian's mom -Dorisse Coats dies
Brian's mom passed away on May 30th. Brian spent the week in Tucson with his father and sister planning a really beautiful funeral service. Brian gave the eulogy and it was beautifully done. It was loving, humorous, and perfect. I can't begin to imagine the plethora of emotions when a person loses a mother. I can't even think about that for my mother. This last act of service for his mother would have made her very happy and very proud.
Good job dear.
